A Thai citizen holding a Thai passport may visit the HKSAR without visa for a short visit or tourism purpose and stay in Hong Kong for up to 30 days. But in any of the following cases, the Thai citizen still needs to apply for a visa at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General or the Immigration Department of the Government of the HKSAR before making the trip.
